Regulations

Local Authority Planning Permission

In the vast majority of cases there is no requirement for formal Planning Consent on a straightforward garage conversion, however we will confirm the exact position with your local Planning Authority and if required submit a full planning application on your behalf.

In the few instances where Consent might be required then we can advise on any relevant planning issues and introduce the services of a local Architect if necessary.

Building Regulation Approval

A legal requirement in every instance, even where formal Planning Permission is not required.

Be careful, structural alterations of any kind do require Building Regulation Approval. Failure to obtain this approval could lead to difficulties when you come to sell your property and, in the worst case scenario, you might even be compelled to change it back!
